The Trustees

Our trustees oversee all aspects of the Foundation’s work. Each one brings unique skill sets that benefit our mission and aims. Along with their skills, they each have a passion for education, charitable work, and service to others.

Wolf

I  joined the trustee team in 2016 and brought I.T., Public Image, marketing, Social Media, and resource management skills.

My main job is to make sure our web and social media content is on message and the development of new ways to promote and raise funds for the foundation to cover the ever-increasing costs associated with running a school in Kenya.

I became a trustee in 2009 after supporting the foundation and visiting Kenya with its founders. My connection to Kenya began in 1996.

As the foundation's 'eyes on the ground,' I make two trips a year to oversee school operations and fund usage. Now as chair, I maintain regular contact with the headteacher and provide feedback to the trustees.

I'm a founding Trustee of the charity, I support children from the poorest families in Shanzu, Mombasa to access free education. Over 20 years of visits have deepened my understanding of the hardships faced by those in poverty, where even securing one meal a day is a struggle.  The costs of uniforms and school supplies create a barrier, making primary education inaccessible for many families.

I became a trustee in 2009 after years of travel with Evelyn to Kenya and Mikoroshoni School. I enjoy assessing building, staff, and pupil needs.

I've become more comfortable in the classroom too, even being left in charge of a class—a long way from driving a bus in Edinburgh! I'm enjoying retirement, I fit two visits to the school into my global travels.

I was invited to join trustees by John Brooker in 2016 while working for a Law Firm in London.

My role with the foundation is fundraising, connecting the foundation with key stakeholders, and support where I am needed. I plan to relocate back to the UK and devote my time to the foundation on a full-time basis.
